Ireland on the Western edge of Europe is probably most famous for the colour green. With a soft climate (Irish for lots of rain) we have a beautiful rich landscape with small winding roads and hundreds of small villages.
Must see would include some genuine wonders of the world including Newgrange and Giants Causeway. Always while traveling you will never be far from a friendly pub where the Guinness and the Craic (Irish for fun) will be flowing.
A great day trip would be to visit the Historic Book of Kells at Trinity College followed by a tour of the Guinness brewery where you even get to try your hand at pulling a pint.
Dublin is a city of contradictions where modern meets old on every street corner. The home of James Joyce and U2.
To really see Ireland you need a Sixt car and move away from the capital!
The West of Ireland is approx. a two hour drive from Dublin. On route you will cross the River Shannon which runs the length of the country and provide an opportunity for boating and salmon fishing. Commonly referred to as next parish to New York the West has a stunning coast line with the highlight being the Cliffs of Moher. The countryside is littered with small fields surrounded by stone walls which have been handpicked from the fields over generations to make the land suitable for agriculture.
Galway, the city of the Tribes is the main city in the West. It is full of winding streets and buskers on the streets. Check out the Oyster festival or the famous Galway races.
