Easter greetings are especially important to those children and their parents who have to spend the holidays in the hospital. That is the main reason why the hospital is happy to have special guests who helped to create a special holiday atmosphere.

The visit of president of Latvia and the first lady was a very special moment to both the children, their parents and the personnel of the ward.

For the sixth year running Children’s Hospital foundation in collaboration with the leading full service leasing and fleet management service provider Sixt Leasing are running a project „Let’s drive home!” which is actualized within the framework of Sixt social responsibility programme „Drying little tears”.

Within the framework of the project, children who are allowed by the doctor to leave the hospital for a week or a weekend are taken home using the same car and by the same driver who is already popular with the children.

This opportunity is important to the children and their parents because without this project many children who come from far- off districts of Latvia would not be able to get home during the time of illness which sometimes last even several years.
