Pullach, 31 May 2012 – Sixt expands its presence in Africa: Shortly after the start in Kenya, the company is offering flexible and comfortable mobility solutions in the West African nation Côte d’Ivoire starting on 01 June. The range of vehicles on offer covers the entire Sixt rental spectrum: from classic single-day vehicle rental through to long-term rental stretching over several weeks. By kick-starting its presence in Côte d’Ivoire, Sixt has moved one step closer to its goal of opening up the African continent. Sixt Group’s station network has already arrived in Angola, Egypt, Kenya, Libya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Tunisia.

At first, the mobility solutions provider will launch its presence in Côte d’Ivoire at the Abidjan’s international airport and a downtown location next to the airport. It’s planned that a further station will open in inner city Abidjan in autumn. The former capital is the largest city in the country, and remains the economic and political centre of Côte d’Ivoire. And Sixt plans to expand to the country’s capital, Yamoussoukro, this year as well. Sixt offers a wide selection of Mercedes vehicles. They can choose between compact A-Class models, medium-class C-Class models and premium E-Class and S-Class models. And Sixt also has a big van, the M-Class SUV, amongst its Côte d’Ivoire fleet. Established Abidjan Mercedes dealer STAR Auto is Sixt’s franchise partner in Côte d’Ivoire. Alongside its car-dealer business, the firm also rents out cars for weddings.

Côte d’Ivoire boasts the strongest economy in the West African Economic and Monetary Union. The tourist sector has huge potential in that country. In addition to its long Atlantic coastline – with its beautiful beaches – Côte d’Ivoire offers visitors several national parks, which form part of a world heritage area. The West African country also features a large number of different people and diverse cultures. And thanks to Sixt’s mobility range, all of those attractions will become accessible to tourists in the future.

Customers can book the vehicle of their choice in Côte d’Ivoire in just a matter of clicks by proceeding to Sixt’s website at
