#SixtRallye fleet finally arrived in Barcelona

After 6 days of the #SixtRallye the black cars of the #SixtRallye fleet finally arrived at their destination between Narbonne and Barcelona. After a drive along the Costa Brava, the teams reached the final stop of the #SixtRallye 2014. After 1,000 miles, the participants of the rally will now head back to the Sixt HQ in Munich.

Narbonne – Barcelona

After the Baguette Challenge was finished, the teams headed down the Costa Brava to the vibrant city of Barcelona. The day was pretty short, with the distance covered being just 125 miles, so there was enough time for a refreshing break at one of the secluded bays after driving around the magnificent, serpentine route around Caraques.

One of the most beautiful hotels of the rally was the stunning Le Meridien in Barcelona. Located along the central boulevard, La Rambla, the gorgeous hotel also has a fantastic roof-top terrace. The #SixtRallye participants were invited to a cocktail evening before heading out to visit the city in a special tapas tour.

We will take Thursday as the day to process all that has happened thus far: pictures, videos, and travel stories, that will be sent to our Content Team in Berlin, as well as our explorations of Barcelona itself, with camera in hand. Barcelona, the city of Gaudi, is without a doubt a treat for rally participants. In addition to the regular tourist attractions such as Parc Guell and La Sagrada Familia, some participants were even able to get some sea air while taking a boat tour just off the coast.

The Challenge of the Day was to post a picture with a “Holi Color” used in the Holi Festival originally started in India. The results speak for themselves (Click here for all photos) and have received Social Media attention.

Barcelona to Grenoble

The rest day ended with a stay in a Five Star Hotel, Le Meridien, in Barcelona. After this break, participants will hit the road again for the 400 mile trip back towards the Apls around Grenoble. After two nights in the Sixt cities of Lausanne and Zurich, Sixt will be pleased to welcome the participants when they arrive in Munich on Monday for the award ceremony.

Until then, you can keep up to date on what’s new at www.sixtrallye.de, and see more photos, videos and stories from the participants. Or search for #SixtRallye on facebook, Instagram, or twitter.
