#GutenTagAmericaContest Week 3 Introduction + Dance & Music Infographic

For the 3rd week of the Guten Tag America Contest, the theme will be German music and dancing! Historically, music in Germany has been associated with famous composers such as Mozart and Beethoven. With dance, you might think of the traditional dance performed by men wearing lederhosen, called schuhplatteln. In modern days, Germany has encouraged the electronic dance music movement. Some even say that electronic music had its origins in Berlin. Either way, Germany has grown to become the 3rd largest music market in the world – behind the United States and Japan. We prepared a fun infographic comparing the music and dance of Germany and the United States with statistical facts as well as fun videos.

Now it’s your turn to show us your German music and dance! Post a video or photo to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #GutenTagAmericaContest for a chance to win a free luxury car rental for a week. Think you can Waltz? Let’s see it. Can you play the piano like Mozart? We want to hear. Maybe you went to a European style electronic concert or dance club recently? Send it our way. Good luck and have fun!
